First-call bassist Harmoni Kelley spent the majority of 2017 on the Summer of ’17 Tour with Kenny Chesney. Late October saw the release of the double-album Live in No Shoes Nation, a 30-song compilation containing the best-of-the-best live cuts from the past 10 years of Chesney shows.
In non-music news, Harmoni moved to San Diego from Nashville a year ago and spent this past summer enjoying life on the West Coast when not touring. She’s also exploring new endeavors, including recently getting her California real estate license. Contact her if you’re looking to buy a house in San Diego!
So what’s on Harmoni’s wishlist this holiday season?
1. That’s a no-brainer for me. My all-time favorite piece of Ampeg gear is the old B-15 flip top amp. They sound amazing and so many studios seem to have those as the standard for what they want the bass to go through to get the best tone. I would love to have one of those around the house!
2. My dream is to work with the Fender Custom Shop to make a bass that’s perfectly spec’d out for me in terms of color, neck width (small hands!), strings, pickups, hardware, etc…
3. Lunch with Duff McKagan. He’s been my hero since I was 17 and is actually the reason I picked up the bass in the first place. I met him and his wife briefly in Los Angeles at a Billy Joel concert that my boyfriend was working, and I would love to pick his brain for an hour or so.
Best of wishes in 2018, Harmoni!
