From 1988’s Out of the Silent Planet to 2008’s XV, King’s X have refined and reinvented their intoxicating sound and Beatle-esque harmonies. 1989’s charting Gretchen Goes To Nebraska was hailed as “taking their unique sounds to unprecedented heights of invention and inspiration.” Throughout, Doug Pinnick’s originality and technical bass prowess – along with the band’s unmatched vocal arrangements – defines King’s X enthralling mix of metal, pop, funk and rock.
An American prog metal band, King’s X is often described as a Christian inspired rock group with sophisticated music and vocal arrangements, in part because of the spiritual aspect of their lyrics. Reflecting each band member’s personal faith rather than a religious agenda, King’s X nevertheless was a non-denominational hit with tech metal rock fans around the world.
