BA Series
The BA-112 has 50 watts at 8 ohms.
The speaker in the BA-112 is a 12”, 50 w, 8 ohm, 1.5” voice coil dia., 30 oz. magnet.
No the BA-112 cannot be connected to an external cab. It is only designed to be a combo amp and use the internal speaker.
The style knob is a five – position switch that allows you to vary the tone of the amplifier. Refer to the manual for the EQ specs of each style preset.
The -15dB pad will reduce the input volume of the amp is typically designed for basses with active electronics or “hot” pick-ups.
The HP model has a built in tuner and mute switch. The HP is about 20 pounds heavier than the standard 115. The CD input on the 115 is after the master volume control whereas on the HP the same input is just before the master volume control. The HP has a tweeter and is rated for about 100W more than the standard 115.
Answer: 1 = -25dB @500Hz
2 = -12dB @500Hz
3 = flat
4 = +5dB @2kHz and above 5 = -6dB @50Hz and below
No. The BA115 does not provide an amplified output that will support an additional cabinet.
The GAIN knob varies the amount of signal driving the preamplifier. The MASTER knob controls the overall output level.
The input on the left is a direct input with no gain reduction built into the circuit. The input on the right is designed with a -15dB gain reduction circuit for active basses that provide too much input.
The headphone jack will break the signal if anything is plugged into it. You must remove the headphone jack to resume signal to your cabinet.
If the distortion sounds like physical rattling from the cabinet, try tightening every screw around the cabinet. Also try to pick up and shake the combo amp to listen if anything has gotten loose inside.
Try a different bass and cable first to ensure that it's not caused by your bass and remove any effect pedals to ensure that it's not coming from your effects pedal. If the distortion comes out of your effects pedal, then please ensure that the output of the pedal is set to instrument-level instead of line-level, if possible, or just simply reduce the output volume. Then check your gain settings. First, please ensure that the '-15dB' input is used when playing an active bass and the '0dB' for passive bass. Second, set all the EQ knobs at 12 o'clock and the volume knob all the way down. Play the bass while slowly increasing the volume knob and note the point where the combo amp distorting. If it only distorts at higher volume, chances are the combo amp is overdriven. Also check your EQ settings, specifically the Bass knob. Try sweeping the bass knob from low to high and see if the combo amp only distorts past certain point. If it does, there's the combo amp is trying to pump out too much bass. Please reduce the Bass EQ setting.
No. The speakers are wired internally to the amplifier. You can, however, connect a 2nd combo amp to increase your overall volume. Take a regular instrument cable connected to the "Line Out" of the 1st amp and connect it to the "Effects Loop Return" of the 2nd amp. Keep in mind that both EQ and volume is controlled by the 1st amp.
To get the best result, please use a direct box that's easily available from most music store. Use a regular instrument cable connected to the "Line Out" of the amp and the input to the direct box. Then use an XLR cable to connect the output of the direct box to the mixer or audio interface.
It depends on how you want your setup to be. If you want to EQ the signal going into the effects pedal using the amp's EQ section, then use the "Effects Loop". Otherwise, have the effects pedal before the amp's input.
