Ampeg Commemorates Dan Armstrong Plexi with New 40th Anniversary Collectable Models
ANAHEIM - January 15, 2009 Today Ampeg announces new commemorative Dan Armstrong models, the ADA6AV and ADA4AV 40th Anniversary Editions and the ADA6LTD and ADA4LTD Limited Editions. The original Ampeg Dan Armstrong guitar and bass debuted at the 1969 NAMM show to a shocked crowd, and was featured by The Rolling Stones during that year’s tour. Ampeg proudly delivers these commemorative models to celebrate their classic design, performance and iconic stature.
The new models retain the legendary diamond-cut, “see-through” acrylic body, whose double cutaways allow easy access to the 24-fret maple neck. They also include the custom removable pickup design, which provides unparalleled flexibility. The ADA6AV guitar and ADA4AV bass shine brighter than ever with a stylish mirrored pickguard and headstock.
The limited editions, ADA6LTD and ADA4LTD, also have the mirrored pickguard and headstock, plus they include a laser etched Ampeg anniversary logo on the body. With fewer than 100 guitars and basses available world-wide these are set to become truly rare and a valuable collector’s pieces.
The ADA6AV has an MSRP of $2,299.99, the ADA4AV has an MSRP of $2,299.99. The ADA6LTD has an MSRP of $3,499.99 and the ADA4LTD has an MSRP of $3.499.99.
The anniversary and limited edition models can be seen at NAMM 2009 in Booth 5676.
