Kaiser Chiefs

2006 was the year Brit-pop sensations the Kaiser Chiefs became the biggest band in the UK, sweeping the NME and Brit Awards and taking home top honors for best British Rock Act, Best British Group and Best Album for the release of Employment. Led by the smash hit single, "I Predict A Riot," the album became an international hit and scored four Top 25 singles on the UK charts. With a nod to '80s new wave dance pop, the Kaiser Chiefs channel the spirit of Tears for Fears and The Jam while maintaining their distinctive songwriting personality. Tracks like "Oh My God" and "Everyday I Love You Less And Less" are punctuated with highly addictive melodies, but the band's ultimate strength is their sheer pop cool. Bassist Simon Rix adds a classic '80s New Wave bass style, playing both lead and supportive roles, indicative of that era. The band recently released their sophomore CD, Yours Truly, Angry Mob and the hit single "Ruby."
