In a few short years, multi-instrumentalist Cody Wright has earned a reputation as one of the most innovative, soulful, and jaw-dropping young performers in the world. He played bass, guitar, and keyboards and was co-composer for the 2019 release of Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove. (Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC/Mac.)
He is known for his virtuosity on the electric bass using picking, tapping, and fingerstyle, along with his genre bending style and adaptability and onstage energy.
Cody has toured nationally & internationally with: Eric Gales, Ghost-Note feat. MonoNeon, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, Ron Holloway Band, Albert Cummings, Everyone Orchestra, Jeff Sipe & Billy Cardine, Jazz is Phish and James Brown Dance Party. Cody even jammed with one of his heroes, guitar master Tommy Emmanuel, in 2014.
In 2015, Cody’s viral video with Chaisaray Schenck on drums reached over a million views worldwide.
In 2016, Cody & the Eric Gales Band co-billed with Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Dweezil Zappa at Guitare en Scene Festival for Joe Satriani‘s Birthday Bash!
In 2017, Cody & the Eric Gales Band shared the bill with Santana, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Zac Brown, Patti Smith, Mavis Staples, Jethro Tull, Snarky Puppy, and others at the Byron Bay Blues Festival in Australia.
In 2018, Cody joined Grammy-winning “conscious funk” ensembe Ghost-Note on the first leg of their “SWAGISM” tour.
In 2019, Cody joined the cast of Vic Firth Jams as the house bassist, recording videos with Steve Smith, Peter Erskine, Sean Wright, Alvin Ford, Jr. (Trombone Shorty), Lenny “Ox” Reece (DJ Premier), and Carlin White. 2019 also marked the release of Toejam & Earl: Back in the Groove, featuring music by Cody Wright, who appeared on the supporting telethon in May 2019 on Twitch TV alongside Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone, Richie Rich), and pro wrestler Fred Rosser.
