1991: Legendary engineer/producer Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton) brings a Pignose amplifier and Gibson EB3 bass guitar to the Hollywood Hills home of British Invasion bassist, Kim Gardner. Kim, who was in the in The Creation and The Birds with Ron Wood, is surprised when Johns hands the bass guitar to his 12-year-old daughter, Eva. Johns then goes to turn up the volume on Van Halen’s live recording of The Kinks’ classic “You Really Got Me” and proclaims, “Now this is a solid bass line!”

Eva never looked back. She quickly outgrew the small Pignose amp and graduated to her Dad’s Ampeg B-15 Portaflex—an amp that has been in the family since the 70s. It wasn’t long before Eva acquired her own arsenal of Ampeg amps that to this day define her sound.

Eva’s professional career began when she toured and recorded as the original bassist in The Mars Volta. She did a tour of the UK with Tim Burgess (Charlatans UK) that included opening spots for the The Rolling Stones at Wembley Arena. Eva’s next endeavor was an Australian tour with the eclectic Veruca Salt. Eva auditioned for the highly coveted spot as bassist for P!NK in 2007. She landed that gig and is currently on her second international tour with P!NK playing the world’s greatest arenas breaking sales and attendance records in Europe and Australia.

In 2014, Eva started playing bass for legendary entertainer CHER on her ‘Dressed to Kill’ tour.

“I’m stoked to be a bass player just like my Dad,” Eva says from her family-owned restaurant—Hollywood’s legendary rocker haunt, the Cat and Fiddle. “He continues to be one of my greatest influences and I am forever grateful.”
