The son of legendary Joy Division and New Order bass pioneer Peter Hook, Jack began playing bass himself at the age of 12.
Music was always Jack’s main passion, and he played in various bands with his friends during his teenage years. In 2010, at the age of 20, Jack was asked by his father to join him on stage for a concert – it was then that Peter Hook & The Light was born. Despite initially only planning to play 1 show in Manchester to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Joy Division’s ‘Unknown Pleasures’ album, one sold out night quickly became two, and the band have been touring across the globe ever since.
Billy Corgan’s appearances in Chicago with The Light led to Jack being asked to join up with his band, The Smashing Pumpkins, in 2015. While on tour with The Smashing Pumpkins, he has also performed live on major television & radio shows including The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live , The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio program. To date, Jack has played well over 100 shows with The Smashing Pumpkins.
